It's a question of unlocking the door with the blade and as soon as you get in (ie activate the sensors) the alarm goes off. Putting the key in the ignition does not disarm it; only using the remote does.

I discovered this "feature" the day the battery died in the fob I had; luckily I was outside my flat and only pi$$ed off the neighbours with the alarm for as long as it took to find the spare...
According to the mechanic, when you open with the blade, you get 15 seconds to get the key in the ignition. "Look" he said as he swiftly entered the car and it went off immediately; I swear he was about to tell me it was 15 seconds too!
It's a small problem I know but a problem none the less; if it's the latch or convenience mechanism that's knackered, I want it fixed - my Toledo had a broken one of those and it used to wind down all the windows. In snow in winter. In Liverpool...
