You could always try Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta's if you want to save pennies and still have a good tyre.

....I was seriously interested in the Vredesteins but their techsupport and support generally, sucks!!

what are those new pirelli tyres like on the gti pirelli? arent these suppossed to be kick ass tyres?

I've just ordered 4 Goodyear F1 assymetrics for the CH's when there painted, after reading loads of good reviews, and they fill the arches better than my Toyo's

Michelin Pilot Sport 2's rock, I have had a set and they are top tyres. I have Michelins on my GTI at the mo, but they are Primacy's. I'll put PS2's on when they are bald.

PS2's are quiet, great in the dry and really good in the wet.

i had some on the ST they were good tyres, look good also (oh and only cost me £330 )

Can us GTI'ers get away with 235 wide to try and help protect the rim a bit with extra tyre width?  A friend of mine has done it on his M3, and another with an S4, as the kerbs here are nasty, and the roads are quite thin.

By the way, did you lot know that Andy Priaulx grew up in Guernsey, and used to do the "hill climb" here up a place named "Val Des Terres"? Top bloke, and has won the World Touring Car Championship 3 times in a row?? 

This talk of Tyres reminded me of him, and he's in our local paper again today. I fitted some tyres for him on once on one of his race cars.
Funny for a guy who grew up on an island with a 35mph speed limit lol!

not sure, i put 235-35-19 on my old car and that had 225 on before, handling was just the same
