fault code help

ive just scanned the golf because its not running great sounds quite lumpy even after a new exhaust and the mpg hasnt been great either 140 miles to 30 quid of petrol and it gave me 2 fault codes
17916 Idle Control Sys: Upper Regulation Limit Reached : P1508 what does this mean what could it be  :shocked:
and Power Supply (B+) Terminal 30 - Low Voltage
or  Power Supply Terminal 30: Voltage too Low : P1602 not sure why this has poped up its had a very recent battery and alternator could it be because ive had the battery off to replace the stater motor  :rolleyes:  any help would be great thnks kev

 P1602 is because you disconnected the battery - just clear that code off  :wink:

As for 17916 could well be dirty throttle body  :undecided: Have a look here:

thanks for you help again mate your top dog when it comes to fault codes  :smiley:  looks like an easyish fix iam gonner try and clean the tb and delete the fault code but if it dont fix the problem will the code pop back up when i rescan the car ?

Yeah clean the TB then clear the codes and take her for a run. Re scan it it its not fixed the code will reappear  :smiley:
