Suspension on the cheap
« on: 04 May 2008, 09:34 »
Turns out my dampers are pretty shot so i want to upgrade the suspension all round but on a budget, so coilovers were out the question but, i found these:

 http://www.venommotorsport.com/manufacturer_product.php?manufacturer=Weitec&category=suspension&product=HiconGTNCoilovers&make=VW&model=Golf%20Mk%202

too cheap?

any other suggestions for up-rated dampers?

cheers

I was thinking about them but was advised to spend a little more, are there any decent reviews of them anywhere?

Dont like the half coilover systems, coils at front and standard on rear. weitec only company that does them, have found if your rear wheels are wide when using adj plate on rear can touch tyre if dropping low. Best just get set of coilovers.

I've got the Hottuning coilies on mine from a group buy here, and I must say for the price I'm very impressed. Fitting was a doddle, and if you wanted to adjust them again it only takes about 5 mins per corner. Seeing as they are so cheap I was expecting the ride to be rock hard but I was pleasantly surprised; they are firm but definately not uncomfortable, and the handling has improved dramatically over the standard units. I have no other experience with other suspension setups so I can't make a comparison but I have to say I'm a very happy bunny.

Word on the street is they're exactly the same, so save yourself 70 quid and go for the group buy posted above
