Know how you feel - well I think I do... though you seem to be taking it quite well.  I was hopping mad although the damage to my rear bumper was more than yours.  Still, even if I had a little scratch on mine I'd want it sorted let alone an indentation.  Go easy on the guy though - you don't want to give him a heartattack.

Tough luck mate - make sure it is properly fixed/repaired now or else you will regret it later. New parts rather than a bodge job which may invalidate your VW warranty in future.
