I only found out coz I was intrigued when I read your post... so actually went out to the car to try various things

As long as the ignition has 'just' been on it works without the key in too! Very handy

You certainly have, made things a lot easier now when cleaning the car! I also dont feel stupid for asking as i now know I wasnt the only one who was struggling!
