im gonna phone the little wayne kerr tomorrow and find out! i forgot to add it also has a front apron on the bumper and side skirts all colour coded. Defo gonna put pics up over weekend, so will be looking for your opinions. Im enjoying my stay in the gti club, used to have an mr2 , there owners club wasnt as expierenced and cool as you guys

Get someone local to stick VAG COM on it and see if its been mapped. (or get a copy yourself, very useful).

That sucks! still love the golf , think its a wee rocket , but annoyed at being lied too. i bought it privately from a guy i thought was genuine, but now i think he is a complete wayne kerr! lol dangers of buying from autotrader i suppose! definitely gonna get that remap got some spare cash to burn. gonna use that clever search feature I think my gti is also needing coil packs as it has being playing up very occasionally. gonna phone my local VW hopefully get a freebie! why do i always get bad luck with cars!

Did'nt the 180's have 6 gears as standard?

Looks like a nice motor though.   Low miles and leather...I would have paid £7k definately.

Yeah the 180's had a 6th gear, I'm sure of it.  £7k is a little steep, I'd have thought 6k was more realistic to be honest.  Still, you'll get lots of use out of it, that sticky out bit on the spoiler needs to got though

I still reckon 7k is about right.  Especially as it's a late model 3 door...even more so if it does turn out to be a 6 speed 180.  And I think the splitter looks ok as it's a dark colour.

Yeh its only got 5 gears, defo a 150 model. never mind im still glad i bought it. and i like tht sticky out bit! :p i nearly bought a golf before that one , but just missed it and that was a 180 , because i remember it having 6 gears, silly me should of thought, but i was slightly gullable in believing the guy, i called him and he says he wasnt aware of it not being a 180...pfft yeh right!
