Best exhaust for 16V?
« on: 14 April 2004, 00:08 »
Whats the best aftermarket exhaust to fit to a 16v, in terms of performance. With it sounding stupid, and keeping a fairly standard look?

ive got a complete scorpion system with twin pipes out the back! ive been told its the best system for the mk2 valver by a few people.

unfortunately it aint very loud on tick over..... which i prefer IMO. But if you put your foot down you get a really nice garble from it ;D

Mate i've got a magnex 6x4 inch system on my 16v it looks well sweet and fills out the rear end a treat!! Also sounds meaty when you give it some 2!!! ;)Would like to upgrade to full system buit you cant do it with the 6x4 system you have to have the twin pipes to have the manifold aswell. ;)

I just bought a 16v and it has a scorpion monza full system fitted. It gives a nice deep sound which I like. It is louder at lower revs but still isn't that loud. I would recommend it. Anyway how much bhp is this likely to add to the cars standard 139 bhp?

I think probably somewhere between 3-7 bhp.

I've got a Remus system on my 16v, nice and quiet at low revs, but quite a deep sound....wicked when your really motoring!

however I think the system is quite heavy..... :-\
