Fresh number plates?
« on: 25 March 2008, 23:05 »
i've just about got my 1.3 looking half decent now but the number plates are letting the side down! they are quite old and the black lettering in going grey and mankey. which type of plate do you recommend? i was thinking about the pressed plates but when i searched them found they are as predicted illegal! so what else should i try, not sure if i like the idea of german plates or not? i dont want anything too obvoiusly illegal either as daddy is a police man !

I have German font plates because mine were cracked & moldy, they really 'freshen' the car up. One of my good mates is a copper and he says,  If you are being a bit lairy it will just give them a reason to pull you over, which could lead to a fine

I have been lucky so far...touch wood...but i'm probably one of the more careful drivers out of my friends.

I think they looks great on most vdub's

Why not get the pressed uk font plates... I want german plates but I border 4 police forces and at least 1 of them is very strict!!

just get some uk fonts but with a vw logo watermarked behind or something. german plates aint worht the £30 fine imo, seems conterproduction spending £30 on pressed plates, then £30 to remove them at any given time. by all means get some for shows but for general driving i'd stay U.K :)

i have normal plastic plates with german fonts and "Volkswagen Golf GTI" printed across the bottom with a red border

police dont seem to care around here, just dont give them a reason to be pulled over!

I don't think a semi will give the same results

FFS !!!

It's only a number plate !! BUy some standard ones, and put the money towards something more productive !!!

(Just my honest opinion !!!)
Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.
