Right, i'm now ready after doing a lot of work on my car to finally sort out my sound system, not something im really up on but was looking for ideas/help on what to buy and where to put it all, i have some  custom door pods coming on a G60 interior i have bought, think they house 16cm speakers? not sure but was thinking of 16cm components set for the front, a 10" sub and amp for some punch and 13cm components for the rear and to house the 13's next to the parcel shelves in the supports and put the tweeters on the pillar or something, would be helpful to know what other people have done and also what brands to use, i want good stuff and am just after quality i dont want it to be the loudest system in the world type thing lol!

i run jbl gto componants in the front. imo sounds lovley.  what sort of music do you lisen to, as i would personlly go for a 12" sub.

A 10" sub and four tweeters will sound awful. It will so sound 'tinny' it will be like listening to Japanese pipe music - all of the time!

I'd go with the components up front, and the 10" sub in the rear, but as for 'rear-fill', I wouldn't bother too much, as you don't sit in the back of the car if you own it. The soundstage is better directed towards the front driver and passenger seat, as this is where the majority of people in a car are. My Mk2 doesn't have anyone in the back, therefore I don't have any rear speakers, not even in the shelf supports.

cheers guys, this is the kind  of help i need, im just sick of people in the ack not hearing anything but bass
