nah speaking to the bloke who done it (previous owner)
Just got straight through stainless exhaust, cam shaft + followers, Induction kit.
I will double check with him but im pretty sure it hasnt.
You wouldnt happen to know somewhere where i could get it done and maybe a ball park figure please chap?
Thanks for all your help guys.

sounds a bit high for just exhaust/cam/induction kit. i reckon you'd be getting 130 tops

I don't think a semi will give the same results

lol nah he gave me proof  if you want to split hairs its 148bhp lol
he put it on the rolling road first time and had a bad over fueling problem but got it tuned by the same company for the over fueling and put back on the rolling road and got 148bhp. so its all good.
i've Got the printout somewhere.
So would a chip and re-map push it a bit higher?

Mk2 8v = 112BHP standard

You can 'chip' them with a chip off ebay for £20 but it'll add about 6BHP if you're very lucky.

Save your money sell the current lump and buy a G60 lump.

Wow, you're easy to convince.

A dyno print-out can read whatever the operator wants it to say, especially if the operator is tuning the motor and wants to show how good he is.  I'd take that reading with a pinch of salt.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

i would take that with a spoon of salt to be honest, not trying to piss on anyones bonfire but thats probably going to run 130 on a good day, i know this as a fact as a good friend has just bought a dyno for his business a year or two back and most dyno's runn up to 25% innacurate, not plugging or anything but a DynoDynamics dyno runs accurate to 0.01 brake horse power and i would personally pay for your dyno session if your golf made 150, not being mean or anthing! the mk2 ecu's also do not have many parameters to change on them hence the small increase in the power and also a star chip which i had on mine just made mine idle like a big bag of nails an made little difference and i made more difference by altering the dizzy, changing the timing lol!

Did you advance the timing or something mate?
Details on this would be much appreciated

I also think that 150BHP out of an 8v is somewhat optimistic. The level of work to squeeze that power would be immense. The head would need to be gass flowed and new, bigger valves fitted. The injection system would need to be radically modified as would the induction system to allow the required airflow. Then there is the bottom end. That would need to be made bigger and stronger with new pistons to increase the already high C\R. If you genuinly have 148BHP, then the ECU will have been modified to its limits anyway.

To convert to turbo, or supercharger, you would need to lower the C\R and replace the pistons with items that can take the extra heat of combustion. New pistons are not cheap, and neither is the kit for turbo or supercharging if it is done properly. You would also need to upgrade your cooling system, your brakes and suspension set up. The list goes on, so do your homework well before taking the plunge.

to put it into perspective, iv just got up and running

k&n panel filter
flowed throttle body
matched flowed and ported oe inlet manifold
newman 268
'vagobonds' ported and polished big valve head 40/35
mk3 agg 2.0 bottom end
matched flowed and ported oe exhaust manifold and downpipe
milltek exhaust

now the standard ecu can not cope to fuel at higher revs, so it'll be going to somewhere like stealth to put in a programable chip and map it properly.

now the cam is quite mild, and even with the fueling, theres a small chance il see the sunny side of 145
