not sure what it does on the GTi but on the ST it seems to store and keep what its learned, hence clearing the KAM, you dont actually need to disconnect the battery on the ST as you can pull the fuse for the KAM and that sorts it, just wondered if the GTi had a similar characteristic

few people have done this with the MKIV; never known it it really works tbh  :undecided: never tried it myself

Hmmmmm..................................

As you get older, you forget about outright speed and settle for the overall driving experience. It's an age thing and particularly attributable to old gits like me

Any benefit here would surely be miniscule and undetectable in the real world. Outright speed - it only results in losing your licence !

Discuss please

I guess you'll be trading down to the 79bhp Golf 1.4s in that case?
EDITION 30.
I couldn't eat a whole one.

Not a chance, but here in the UK, the speed camera capital of the world, the opportunities for outright speed have gone way south with political correctness and the environmentalists. Now there's a whole can of worms

One way to reset the learned adaption values is to introduce a fault on the ECU (Engine Controller 01) and then clear it with VAG-COM.

The simplest way I know of to do this is to unplag the MAF and then turn the ignition on, no need to start the car.  Reconnect the MAF and then clear your fault code in the normal manner.
