major oil leak after bottom end swop HELP

il set the scene...
basically did an engine swop to my 91'8v pb
lesser milage pb bottom end
bvh
newman 268
lightened fly
after timing it up and to my amazement it fired up first time but its absolutely p~ssing oil out from either the dizzy, or the oil cooler to block flange. it runs like a river

now im on my own this evening so i havent anyone to check, but from starting it twice for 10 seconds each, its dumped 2 litres of oil

im just not sure why this is?  iv looked at the dizzy again and its properly fastened down and the flange is properly torqued with the gasket. too much pressure building up in the block? the filter fills as it should

any experiences would be great

only thing i can think of would be to try and find out if oil cooler has a gasket or needs one other thing is oil cooler tightened up properly

it has a gasket but admitably i never changed it 
also been suggested to re-machine the face of the housing

try a new gasket but while it is off check for pitting on mating surfaces and if pitted use some 800 grit wet or dry paper and a flat block and get rubbing till it has gone
i did this to the coolant flanges on my head it takes a while but worth it

right still havent got to the bottom of it. i got the face of the flange machined, it was slightly warped. all new gasketts, and bolts from vw. all torqued as they should. prepared the face of the block with 600 wet and dry. and and its still p~ssing oil everywhere! im totally lost now

sound silly but have you checked that everyting is where it should be? vac hoses? also make sure that there are no blocks in the pipe between the flying saucer and the air intake.

I had oil pissing out from the rocker cover because of a blocked pipe and vac hose being off, dunno if this info will help but its worth triple checking everything just incase

treated myself to a 2.0 bottom end. see what happens now......

things to check when fitting 2.0 
dizzy unless you have a 2e block
throttle clearance to bonnet
exhaust clearance under car

got the 2e dizzy and an exhaust spacer. the bugger wouldnt start, until i sent my dad down the road to get some petrol
