i ran vag com on my zillion year old xp Laptop, 15 codes came up (all bull sh!te from stuff been un plugged i guess)  i cleared the codes and just tried it

The thing just fired up into life, couldnt believe it, sounds mental with no exhaust

need that cat to arrive from the states i cant wait to get this bad boi on the road

biggest shouts ever to ben - some of his work on this was outstanding (and im a fussy bas tard)

jonny - u know me, iv spent alot of time on this engine and everything else, we both wanted to make this look OEM. The wiring is better than it was out the factory..  im very very happy

a few tiny bits to sort, brackets and stuff for the coolant bottle etc and induction kit, and thats about it...

it will then be off for a custom remap

SUPER SUPER SUPER stoked about this firing up
Chuffed witht the end result, think we have done an A-MAZING job on it to say it was our first (of many??) conversions
Like Brad said, some odds and sodds to sort out and that god damn cat to turn up and she's on the road
Im actually rather shocked at just how well it has gone, without taking into consideration all the fecking about on that green valver we did, it was a 2 day tear down and 4 day re-build   6days from a running, OLD SPEC, 8v, to a running 1.8T  :smug:

Gotta make another housing for the boost gauge as I butchered the old one
And as Brad said, a few under the hood brackets to make, expansion tank, carbon cannister and air filter, but I think the plan is to take it to my work once its on the road to do them.

CANT WAIT FOR THE TEST DRIVE
Got some pics from the last couple of days so il start bobbing them up shortly
