Well I made a trip to Folkestone yesterday (a round trip of 270 miles). I'd like to say the trip was uneventful, but I'd be lying. I decided that I would take a risk on the battery as it seemed to be holding a charge. In hindsight this was a rather foolhardy decision. I ran out of electricity on the way back just by the m25 m23 junction! DOH!!! All I can say is thank god for the AA. The car was fixed within an hour by a very nice man. A very very nice man! (Ooops, showing my age there a bit!!)
Anyway I collected this!
It all went very quickly and easily. You got love Volkswagen for their simplistic approach!
Hmmmmm lovely!! The car is pretty much finished now. It's gone from a non running turd to a very respectable chariot in only 10 days!! RESULT! The only things left to do now are replace a few small bits of interior trim. The nearside wheel bearing still needs doing, but isn't that bad at present so this can wait. The final thing to do now is book it in for a full valet and have the carpets and seats steamed cleaned to get them like new!! There will be other things to do, like fit the G60 leather wheel I won on ebay for £16. Yup that's right only £16!! I must have bargain angel looking out for me
