rev counter from synchro to driver
« on: 29 February 2008, 18:33 »
hi
i bought synchro clocks from some dude, to fit in my driver.
they are still on the way so i haven't looked at them yet, but i started to be afraid that the rev counter will give a false reading, because the coil may be different.
any ideas?

The rev counter will work just fine.

The speedo will tell you utter nonsense, if you plug it into a 2WD 'box it'll do things like tell you to spell Syncro with an H, as well as being miles out with regards to the speed you're going.
Just because you're offended doesn't make you right.

Whether they work depends on them being from the same series as your car. VW did two types of instrument assembly. One set has two connectors and one set has one. The two connector units are found on earlier vehicles. As long as you have the right type it's a plug and play affair. But as mentioned swap over your current speedo unit.
