Try calling your local college.
They always need cars for their students to practice on so they do resprays for free and they're usually a better quality than at body shops because they're marked.
I had my Mk1 done in Lhasa Green by students and it looked mint.
Tried this a while back when someone mentioned it to me, but the college near me stopped doing it, or stopped the bodyshop part or something. Thanks bud.
I'm looking forward to doing it myself now, still trying to get the inlet manifold and cam cover clean enough for spraying, its such a c*nt! Not bothering with the throttle body for now as its quite awkward to clean, etc. That can be done later on, no worries.
Anyway, wiring is done as the wiring diagrams say it should be, will see what's what when I get the battery charged and ignition switch done. If it hasn't work, then oh well, I will make do and get an auto electrician to give it look later.
Getting paint tomorrow and spraying the wheels. If all goes well with the cleaning, maybe see some primer on the cover and inlet. I hope for them to be painted and bolted back on too, but I'm not holding my breathe
