Glove box light
« on: 31 March 2004, 10:17 »
Does anyone have a glove box light fitted on their car? Was this standard on GLs or something, or only as an option? If you do, is it controlled by a switch, or does it come on when the glove box is open?

So, when you open the glove box, it comes on automatically?

Thats alright then! I got one that only has on or off, just wondered if i could control it with a switch. Cheers. I've only ever seen one golf with a light in, which is why i assumed they weren't standard

yep it goes by the catch, you open your glove box and then you have to turn it on! you could prob wire in a little switch the, wont be hard at all! especially if you fitted your own lights on warner!

Yeah i guess. I just cant see where to put it though!! The wiring going to the light isn't too great either. I have a wire coming off the radio supply going to the light, and also to a cigarette lighter, so its a total mess!

I see. Not a bad idea i guess. Though you may note, i have mine wired into the radio, so it would stay on all the time, not good!! My battery only just starts my car anyway, dont want to push it!! Most mornings its only on 12.3 - 12.4!! Then obviously charges right up to 13 something.
