VR power steering rack?

Hi all,

Does any know if the power steering rack on a VR is servicable?

no but you can send it to places to be repaired -ur better off getting a  second hand one though

mk3 golf 1.8t ,280mm front brakes rear disc conversion,coillies.

Why? so you can spend a couple of hours taking it off and a couple more hours putting it back in to discover that the one you've bought is scrap?

I'll recon your existing rack at a good price (as long as it is servicable...)- PM me for details

doesnt take a couple off hours to fit . or you could just get a recon :smiley:

Wouldn't this be the best bet? it listed on GSF

43033D POWER STEERING RACK-GEN  G3 GTi/16v/VR6  210.00 

I checked with VW and they wanted £494+vat.

GSF don't seem bad ?

Oh and how longs it going to take to do the rear bushes?

took me an hour to do the bushes.replaced the with poly bushes which are a lot easier to get in then the oe ones .

poly bushes are much more simple.....my standard ones took 3 hours and lots of swearing!! fkin load valve position is biggest problem!!
