Its called the cylnder head flange and they go for a pass time, your better off getting a geniune one as I've just found out  :undecided:

Do i want to know how much? was it hard to fit? there looks to be a sensor in there?

Im assuming fairly simple job just a case of draining old coolant etc and replacing?

There are two sensors in there (ECU temp sender and Temp gauge sender) all you do is take them out, take off the hoses and then remove the plastic flange. Then its a case of cleaning up the surface of the head as much as possible and putting the new one on, refitting all the other bits and then refilling the cooling system. I would be supprised if a genuine one cost more than about 10 or 12 quid

You should get a rubber O ring with it, and I would get a genuine one as I replaced the other flange thats on the end of the head with a non genuine part and it lasted about 12 -14 months so now I've got to do it again so I bought a geniune this time and should of the first time. Make sure that the area where the flange bolts to head is clean and flat, good luck
