I had my car reg'd and insured at my parents address but lived elsewhere. It got stolen and burned out there and the police/insurance didn't give a sh!t, paid out no problems.
It's not as if everyone always keeps their car at home overnight is it? How would they know it wasn't a one off visit?
Bare in mind though my parents address at this point was still my 'official' address - on electoral roll there etc, and where I was actually living was just rented digs with mates.
