MK1 TRACK CAR YOUR OPINIONS PLEASE
« on: 31 January 2008, 13:23 »
I have a mk1 gti which i use only for track days, i take it on a tralier so it is not road legal. My wife has just had our second boy so there is not going to be anytime or money this next couple of years to do any days.
So here we go Mk1 No Sunroof, 2l Tall Block Bottom end from MK3.
New head only done about 3 Track days with it Kent fast road cam.
Gaz coilovers fully adjustable
Sachs Clutch only done 3 track days with it in.
Cobra Monaco Bucket seat x2 with Willans Harnesses
Stripped out inside
Short Shift gears
4 Branch Manifold with straight through Supersrint Exhaust
OMP Strut Braces
Black Diamond Discs with Green Stuff pads and Braided Hoses
New Radiator Just Fitted with Switch on the dash so can be left on during the track days
4 Avon acb 10 track tyres on standard gti rims , with 4 used ones spare and 4 full slicks used but loads of life in them.
Baffled Sump
Mocal oil cooler with thermostatic sandwich plate (not fitted yet)

Problems with the car are:
Oil light flashes on dashboard- wiring fault
front indicators dont work - wiring fault
No horn
Switch on stalk for indicators broke.
Fis these small problems would pass an MOT No problem the bodywork is solid.

Currently the gearbox is knackered but i have a fully reconditioned one in the boot which cost me £250 quid to get done just need fitting.   I am sure there is more stuff but just cant remember.

OK The big question if i sell it how much should i get what should i ask for it.

useless without pics.

with regards to selling its only worth what someone will pay. why don't you see what other mk1's are going for, what similar cars are selling for and work it out that way. a description is pointless without actually seeing the car in person for a good figure. if you advertise at a too high price you can always come down.
