As it looks like a diffuser, do you know if it actually does give any extra downforce?

....An interesting question but I don't know the answer. I would have thought that any difference would be minimal. The OSIR cf roof spoiler might have more effect but looks OTT in my opinion unless it's a track car.

The Clio has a rear diffuser instead of a roof spoiler and Renault say that it gives as much downforce as having a roof spoiler. The Clio diffuser doesn't look that much different either as it doesn't stretch under the floor pan. :undecided:

....That's good to learn. A bonus .

By the same token, I wonder what difference my OSIR front splitter makes aerodynamically. A while ago when I was at Ray West's I met a guy there using the workshop  who used to work with Williams F1 specialising in wind tunnel stuff. He told me that every single bodywork change could make a difference.

Yes, I was watching the Veyron on Topgear and JC said that at high speeds even the wing mirrors generate downforce

I would think its true....i remember reading that mirrors on the Ferrari F430 were designed to create that little bit more downforce and to help direct wind straight into the vents at the back for the little engine....quite impresive if you really think about it....

....I reckon that any downforce increase would only come into play at speeds over about 120 mph on the autobahns etc. I have found that at more than about 135 mph (GPS reading) the car feels much lighter. But how much downforce only 2 vertical baffles would create, I wouldn't know.

The downforce would be created by the angle and length of the diffuser. The baffles are there to aid a linear air flow to up the downforce :nerd:
