fitted a rev counter
« on: 27 January 2008, 13:35 »
i got a set of clocks from a diesel and i fitted the rev counter, but the rev counter thinks when im red lining it im only doing 2000 rpm.
is this because it is geared up for a diesel and not a 1.3 petrol. Is there any way of fixing it?

theres a pic any ways

its probably cause the kickback from the diesel coil is different.. theres obviously soemthing ni the circuitry.. as well as the fact that redliens at 5k.. theres gonna be soemthing different.. youve got the wrong stuff dude!

ETKA lsits a totally different rev counter for the diesel to all the petrol engines

signal for the diesel rev counter comes from W pin on alternator, not the coil. a petrol alternator doesn't have that pin..

bloody hell of course..

glow plugs in a diesel isnt it, wasnt thinking then.. diesel works on compression not spark.
