I don't get a big whoosh at 4k in mine  :undecided: Its when you hit 3k and the turbo kicks in and you get a big surge of power all the way through the rev range. very smooth, I would say the delivery is very similar to stock but just with more power. interesting experience as i was under the impression it was a generic map

Yes turbo spools up at about 3000 revs but starts to kick in at about 4000 revs! I can honestly say i't spoils the drive of the car! This power late on in the revs would be good for on a track but for country roads!?

Everyone to their own I suppose, let us know how you rate the APR as a comparison, be interesting to hear the differences from someone whos tried both in a short space of time.

....Interesting comparisons - On my Stage1 GTI (with various hardware mods) my turbo kicks in at about 2,000 revs, which is considerably lower than you guys are reporting. Power doesn't drop off dramatically further up the rev range either.

Personnaly i like the kinda on off type of thing from big boost cars - When i had my Evo MR340 it was handy at the end of the month to drive in the non boost zone - it meant i could get more than 100 miles to a tank!

Absolutely no problem in power delivery IMO - exactly as you'd expect for a high boost turbo 2L - take it too far and you'd get a EVO FQ400 but in the Golf Fine - well fine!

Red, your car has a different turbo which spools up earlier in the rev range than the ED30, but also tails off earlier in both standard and remapped versions. :nerd:

Getting the APR trial on Saturday morning and I will report back! I also have GIAC to try out after that! The APR 6 hour trial should last me a good few weeks! There was nothing wrong with the Superchips Remap just was not what I was looking for!

No Problem buddy but I will probably still have the APR trial running still then! There is a red edition 30 in Leuchars which is running the GIAC map! I wonder if he is a member on here!?

Is that 6 hour trial measured in driving time then ?
