Hi there

Im 19 and have a Mk3 Golf 1.4 CL as my first car :)

Best deal I found was from Norwich Union which was ?723 a year third party fire and theft

Pass Plus gives you a big discount so I would recommend he gets that if he is gonna be driving a car that is expensive to insure

Bell Direct, or one of those in back of Max Power. Should be worth trying.

Grp 14 and new driver - gonna be at least ?1000 :o

at that age and experience you'd be very lucky to get cheap insurance.

not sure what kind of price they'd want for a 8v gti.

for a valver i'd expect up around 1800 quid.. or they wont touch you.

I agree with overseer, unless he is minted and doesn't care how much it's going to cost him I suggest he sets his sights lower and then look to get some no claims bonus behind him before getting into the higher insurance groups.  The fact he's still on his provisional (and 17 !) means that they will quote such a high premium that you would never take it on :(

......now officially dubless.
