It happened in Doncaster.

To be fair, the individuals involved were reasonably apologetic about it all,
and they did compensate me for the inconvenience of having to take the car back for a second attempt
(at the simplest of all jobs),
but only after I had made it clear that I knew what I was talking about.
It was the filter bit of the incident that really infuriated me, just utter incompetance or penny pinching at the extreme - maybe a bit of both ?

We've had VW's for about 7 years now and always taken them to the Rotherham or Hillsbrough main dealers for servicing and repairs and never had too much to complain about, although I haven't been as fussed in the past because they were all lower spec lower priced cars. Thought I'd give the local dealer a chance this time - you live and learn, but without standing over them, how do you really know what they get up to ?

It has totally detroyed any confidence that was left in main dealer services.

R32 - maybe I'll try Wakefield next time, not too far from here.

I have always taken mine to Hillsborough and have never had cause for complaint

Not tried Otley or York yet .... anyone used them ?

Hayselden (Barnsley) Ltd have given me good service at a good price. (Sister garage to the Doncaster one I presume). Compared to other dealerships that have been mentioned on this post they have not damaged my cars in 4 years. I had 2 cars damaged by one chain mentioned in the previous post.
