if you look at a mk2 with the 'small bumpers' and then look at one with the 'big bumpers' they look completely different due to the extensions front, back and sides that the later kit gives.
mine was orginally born (back in Jan 1987) with small bumpers and in white

later in it's live with was graced with a paint job (thank god) and the later style 'big bumpers' that changed the look complete. I know this for sure cos a) they weren't around in 1987 afaik and b) half the bloody wings only have 1 hole instead of 2!

The pikey that did the swap forgot to change the arches and add the sil skirts

I shall be doing this with G60 items soon - to give a wider look

are we actually sure VW call them big bumpers or is that a name they adopted somewhere along the line?
Black_gti states (and I quote):
<GTI> bodykit extends a bumper
<GTI> bodykit has side skirts
<GTI> bodykit has cutout for exhaust
<GTI> bodykit extends below the bumpers and is a plastic skirt below the door sills
<GTI> bodykits are either black plastic, or better still ... bodycoloured
so really he classed big bumpers are a bodykit there.
although in his first post containing the log form chat he left out half of those details!
