They have taken the engine head off to expose the pistens and look like they were cleaning them.

Cant see why they would be doing any work on it, not unless they had been aurthorised to do so

no they arent allowed to start any work until the insurance have assesed it and given authorisation to the garage, where did u find an engine?
I must warn you I'm about as decisive as a 5 yr old in a sweet shop!!

Jesus wept! :undecided:

I've resuced my car from that sad excuse of a repair shop, told my insurance company where to get off and amazingly the engine may not be a write off after all!

Insurance tried to invalidate my claim so i threatened to report them to the FSA and they agreed to repair my car in a garge of my choice. They asked me to pay £70 increase in premium for the modified Induction kit, which i did. However when i went to get my car this morning from the garage and told him i was having a second opinion the orginal "your engine is bust" story changed to the timing may just be out of cinq and once i put it right the engine should be fine!

I spy an insurance scam between garage and insurance person!! tut! tut!

Fingers crossed i'm hoping that's what's wrong, will find out on Friday!

insures send out a surveyor and they tell the garage to do further checks to the engine before they send off a damage report this is normal practise to stop garages over repairing cars.
