I know somebody whos dad got him the new typre r gt. 20 grand it cost.

I remmeber when he tried to show off with it. And it just sounded like an electric shaver lol.

I knew it was crap from when i saw it. So the clarkson review was no surprise.

I used to have an 05 plate CTR and that was a fun car although I tired of having to wring its neck. The major fault with the engine of that car is its lack of torque. It sounds like one of those pub conversations but it really does affect how you drive the car and makes it quite tiresome. It was a fun car and the handling was great (in the dry), scary f*cker in the wet though.

Honda have lost the plot with the latest model though. A Type R is supposed to be about a killer chassis and a raw experience. I'm afraid the latest model is suffering from MK4 Golf Syndrome, they need to go back to their roots.

i do like the new Type R but as with all new models they tend to weight more which then affects everything when it comes to performance  :undecided:

JDM Civic has an uprated engine - over 235bhp as dyno'd and this is touted as the doner engine for the forthcoming Civic RR (if it ever materialises). The JDM Civic is a saloon and can lap Motegi only 2 seconds slower than an NSX  The JDM Civic also has full wishbone suspension and if you want it can be privately imported by Litchfield....see below link :nerd:

He did indeed, The civic was only 0.2 of a second quicker that the Golf around the track,

I was thinking that the civic is 0.7 of a second quicker 0-60, this means that the golf must handle better as it gained half a second on the lap after the start.
I just dont know if to believe their lap times or not?? The R32 is 6 secs quicker that the ctr on the topgear site..

let's not forget that VW didn't always improve the GTI with new models - thank goodness MKIV to V went the right way.

there is a huge contradiction between top gear tv and top gear mag. in the mag, the type-r was praised as being the best hot hatch but clearly not on the tv show.
Love the type-r but was dissapointed with the new ones engine. Would think it sounds nicer than the gti tho. can't beat the noise of an engine at 8500 rpm!
