Oh yeah, well reminded about the oil, the 2.0 has a bit of a thing for oil, keep her topped up.

tend to go threw it like the diesels do ???
was surprised about the mpg, only tend to put 20's in at a time (tight b*stard)
put a tenner in her couple of days ago and only got 35 mile!
gutted:(
but to be honest i have been driving it a little hard, as its a new toy:)
cant believe the engine being cold matters, but ill take your word for it, give it a try as 35 to a tenner seems well crap, my boxster does at least 50+
whats a full tank come in at nowadays price wise ???

Engine being cold has really affected my MPG. I don't take it over 2500 rpm until its a 90 anyway.

Yeah, its not the best for town driving, i struggle to get decent MPG while driving in town with traffic etc. Motorway run and sensible-ish driving will give me 32-35 which is fine by me.

Like aland says the mpg is really bad when the engine is cold.  I think 34mpg is quoted as the average, and is actually bang on what mine is since the last time I reset it.

Just another note to keep an eye on the oil.  Mine seems to need filling up every 6 weeks or so and I don't do a huge amount of miles in that time.  Before I noticed how much it used I had the Oil Warning message come up and the car ran like crap for a week after.

Costs about 50 or just under for Vpower and around 45 for normal fuel. I was using Vpower till i found this forum and was told its pretty pointless using it every week.

35miles for a tenna is ridiculous and i know what you mean about you just getting it and 'testing' the car in the first week or so. What i did was waited till the testing period was over and when i was driving it like normal then i was seeing how much it was consuming.

Also the 300 or less i was getting was before i was letting her warm up properly, ive started that this week so ill see if it gets any better

look a bit too bling for me, alright on the black coloured golfs but not anything else :(
going for a set of 19" RS6's, i know there still a bit common, but not really after modifying too heavy.
got to think come re sale time what other ppl may like.
