Edition 30 front spoiler any clearence problems ?
« on: 18 October 2007, 11:11 »
Hi

I am looking to find out from edition 30 owners if they have any issues with the front spolier grounding out or catching on speed bumps etc.

My car currently has an ABT front splitter and it is getting on my nerves because i have to be so careful where i drive and yesterday i got it caught on my mates drive and it has started to split the fiberglass.

I will replace it with an edition 30 one if there aren't any issues with clearence but i wanted to check 1st.

Cheers

Simon

My ED30 has got better clearance than my S3 did as the S3 used to catch on the entry to my garage but the ED30 doesn't.  Not really much use to you I know

As was said by Ollieb7 your car looks really good like it is and I wouldn't change it if I were you

If you do end up changing it I will buy that splitter off you. I was just about to buy one of these.

I'd leave the ABT one on. So what if you need to be careful over speed bumps. It looks worth it.

No problems over speed bumps with my ED30 and there are some humdingers around where I live

My OSIR front spoiler is in between the depth of the stock GTI and the Abt and I only get potential problems on extreme drives into some people's houses.

My Edition 30 front spoiler grounds out lots, it's an issue.

Take a bumpy road at speed and it'll ground. Steep driveways too although speed bumps are ok so far.

No flexibility in it either!

It's a mess underneath but doesn't show unless I get on my hands and knees.

Never had a car that grounds out (at all) before, quite suprised at this happening!

yeah my e30s has grounded out about 3 times in the 2months iv had it, only on steep driveways or curbs that are too high (when parking faceto)
