need help with radio wiring

hello there   im in need of help finding out what wires are what for my cd player in my mk2 golf 16v  as the previous owner butchered the wiring   any help would be much appreciated

Try useing the search function, there's loads of threads about audio wiring (I'm starting to sound like Slick  :undecided:)

Someone needs to help me with this crappy search. I dont no what to type in the search and when i do nothing comes up. Even checked the spellings and everything

Hi Mate     The power wires in your car will be yellow, red and black. Black is obviously earth and the red and yellow are a permanent live and ignition live. Use a multi tester to find out which one is permanent live. There will then be eight speaker wires which will be four colours i.e a green one and a green with black line etc. These will fit your speaker wires on your stereo.

is it the stereo loom or the car loom thats been cut

stereo loom wiring is as follows

yellow= 12v+
red= ignition live
black=earth
blue=remote out
orange=illumination

speakers

white=front left +
white/black= left front -
grey=front right +
grey/black=front right-
green=rear left +
green/black=rear left -
purple=rear right +
purple/black= rear right -

car side is this
