I totally absolutely resolutely agree with that statement. Right rims make >>50% of the visual impression.

Why not go for a set of black alloys and make a proper colour coded car

Max, don't listen to Hurdy. I've seen black-on-black GTIs, they are not that impressive. Silver Monzas, on the other hand, will stand out nicely against the body color, and will draw a lot of attention. You'll be much better served by standard Monza 18"s

yeah a polished face alloy looks great on a black car! sets it off!

i think black rims on a black car would look no so nice. Would make the car look like a big lump on blackness if you get my drift.
18" monza's are the way i think but i think they will set me back a fair bit with wheels. Unless i get replica's........

tbh replicas are good value for money as long as you look after them! i dont think they stand up to the eliments like the oem ones!

As with all polished wheels a thin layer of WD40 after they have been cleaned should seriously lengthen their life (to about 2 years  )

cool, i just use a decent car wax on the serface as it should be laquered! but i guess wd40 would be good when there is alot of salt on the road!

Its the laquer being broken down by salt that starts the corrosion of the wheel, specifically the whitew worm effect with the Monza wheels. You are right, a layer of WD40 during the winter months protects from the salt. Im sure a sealer of some sort for the summer months will be adequate
