i know this has probably been ask a million times.
ive got a 83 gti tin top 8v and was thinking of changing the engine.
i was thinking of fitting a either a 16v or a g60.
which is the easiest to install? gives the best performance/tunning?
i know the 16v would be cheaper (i guess)
or shall i just tune the 8v???

G60 will give you more power but would be more expensive and harder to install and more expensive to run and maintain. 16v engines will be cheaper and easier to install and a mk1 with a 16v is a bit of a beast ! I always think the perfect G engine for a mk1 would be a G40.
