Right well, basically i bougt my self another mk2 golf, 1.6 as a project to restore (or maybe use the shell dnt know yet), but im after some break calipers, pads & disks, now i cant find anyone or anywhere that sell some decent calipers, possibly in RED, does anyone have what iam after of maybe know where i can get a good deal from???....

That's where I got my answer. It just seems a bit pointless repeating yourselves everytime the same question is asked.

I know little about MK2 but a fair bit on how to use the search function. Go figure...

Perhaps some people don't..

Hey I agree with both of you guys!
Sometimes search button is usefull and Sukhi did point him in the right direction after all memebers selling calipers will be far cheaper than a link to companies. But on the other hand 8vriecy you helped the chap out if he needed new calipers aswell. It's difficult to understand on PC as emotions don't come into it.

But I would prefer to ask dublife if he wants upgrades or standard ones and discuss whats suitable for his 1.6 driver no point in expensive calipers if they are over kill. If you want red ones cheaper option is to buy VHT red paint and recondtion the ones you have. You can buy slider kits for the calipers if they are split.
Nothing like a tat yard and getting a decent set for next to nothing even upgrades will be cheaper option.

The search facility ONLY works if people take the time to give answers to postings.
Otherwise the search will be useless.

I don't know 8Vricey when I started on here the search function was the single most usefull tool it forced me to look up and use my head to work things out so I didn't have to rely on asking too many questions that I could work out for myself. Granted sukhi could have explained more but "The cruel to be kind" is not a bad concept to adopt!
Anyways your from North Devon you should be chilled fella, my inlaws are from Ilfracombe!

Right, f**king behave. The search function works fine. Granted the answers are sometimes hazy, but i can guarentee that to 99% of questions asked without searching, there are about 5 different older threads that have answered it before, just look through the search results and you will find what you want.

Loads of posts or no posts, it makes not a jot of difference, we all here for a common reason. So sukhi, I agree with you. Search first, ask second.

While your on the search subject how far back does the search function work ? as I've posted in threads and then when useing the search function to find some of the information in the posts and threads have had no luck

AFAIK the search function will source threads back until when the server was migrated a couple of years back (2004 ish) so everything that has a relevant source word will come up.

I agree that the search should be used first BUT, i will continue to answer threads directly with an answer rather than just say 'use the search'. It takes the same amount of time, adds extra information to the searches, and is a whole lot more friendly !!
