I'm just back from a run in the country and came across a deserted, very straight piece of tarmac that ran for as far as I could see.
What to do?
Well I did what any self respecting petrol veined enthusiast would do and dropped 3 gears, nailed it and kept it nailed until the speedo read 250kph (156mph)
.
Had a great tailwind (known as the Spring Nor'wester over here) which really helped a lot. The car was still pulling very well and I think it would have run through 260kph (indicated) but I saw a car about a mile away so backed off down to 100 and called it a day.
It got a bit light feeling beyond 245kph but was very stable otherwise considering it was a bumpy narrow sh!tter of a road.
I'll post a speedo pic when I hit 265kph (165mph).
