LOWERING MK4 GOLF ON 18''s RS4's - ADVICE REQUIRED
« on: 25 September 2007, 23:08 »
Hello All

This is my first post so by gentle.  Ive just bought a mk4 golf tdi130 with 18 rs4s already fitted but like a lot of people have said, it looks like a 4x4 lol.

I would like some advise, and pictures if possible, of which are the best springs to buy and what drop will be the best. tyres i think are 225 40 18s

Thanks in advance
Bruce

budget for the springs would be about 200 squid fitted.  got a quote for eibach pro kit (-30mm) fitted for 189 but i think 30mm would not be enough.

i would love adjustables but they cost a tad bit more than springs lol

Get the -30's & the Eibach rear ARB.  Would be better than coilovers on their own & won't loosen your fillings, LOL!!!

Obviously, coilovers & the rear ARB would be the ultimate, but it depends how hardcore you want (& the size of your wallet, of course).

You going to do any trackdays or anything??

No not planning on doing any track days, its used daily as a family car lol my son has to travel in some style

with me being new i assume ARB is anti roll bar?? i've heard koni do -40mm springs but would i then need shortened dampers which would sacrifice the comfyISH ride?

Yes, sorry, ARB = Anti-roll bar.

My car has the Eibach -30's on OE shocks.  It's not perfect, but the car now handles 10 x better than it did standard.  It corners much better, but the ride is not compromised at all!
