I had a similar problem to this which turned out to be a small rip in the large hose that goes from the airbox to the injectors, so when you accelarated the engine rocked open the hole up & to much air would be sucked in causing the car to judder violently

Well i know this sint my thread, just to let anyone know i sorted mine it turned out to be the dizzy or hall sender and i advanced the timing slightly lots of low down torque now and pulls like a train.!  :smiley: p.s hope you sort yours mate.
i must buy a new car!

does anybody know how much and how easy it is to replace the hall sender? ive just had a new dizzy rotor arm and leads but ive got a judder in 4th and 5th also.

hall sensor is in the dizzy?? so to bolts be sure you getit time up when replace it..you said you had new dizzy? or did you mean cap??

cap! im thinking it could also be the fuel line thing like someone said about on the first page, but not sure where to start looking! i want to get it sorted for driving down to edition38 next sunday!

was in GSF this afternoon and the guys there were talking around £20 for dizzy/hall sender.  Cant remember how much exactly as I was in a rush.
Things I need (Mar 08): 1990 Drivers door in calypso green for 3door - someone must have one!
Things I have found: (Mar 08)Power steering pump bracket, sun visor clip

I just changed the whole dizzy not sure how to replace hall sender tbh, i think its quite fiddly, better to replace the whole dizzy as there cold be up and down wear to the shaft. Hope this helps.  :smiley:

someone on another forum suggested it could be the blue temp sensor...? does anyone no if vw stock the part still? how easy are the blue temp sensors to change..?

also i've posted a new thread about which way the blue plug and the black plug should go becasue ive seen pics with the blue sensor closest to the engine but mine is not! please help i need to sort this out quick!

typical bank holiday weekend too, nowbody oopen to speak to about it!
