I think you can only get the gti in white so you'd have to respray the entire car aswell if you want a white one

Damn, there's something wrong with my pc, graphics card or monitor then. I could have sworn I saw a blue one somewhere on this forum

Mk 5 GTi, Tornado Red, Leather, Xenons, 18" Monza II's, Sunroof, 6CD in Armrest, Winter pack & Tinted Windows... soon to be adding ED30 front spoiler, plus R32 sideskirts... then getting fully colour coded!
New engine fitted when car was at 27k... last one went "noisey".

I am 20. Insurance wanted £3100 for myself as a main driver on a 1.8T fully comp. Forced me to get a 2.0l 8v instead, even now Im paying lots (£1000). I shant delve into how I got the price down.

I find it hard to believe a main dealer has a 2007 GTI for £14,995 - if that was the case I'd be phoning and buying it over the phone now! (my guess was its probably a low spec GT you saw - but even at that, that would make a cheap nearly new GT!)

As for the topic of a new shape GTI at 17 - doubtful - even when I was in and around 19-20 I couldnt get a turbo covered (not even a GTTDI) so had to buy the Mk4 2.0 (great car- wrong engine but I did get the spec I wanted - Turbo wheels, climate etc etc)

Presently I'm coming 22 and the insurance company are only now saying I can have a GTI insured for a three figure sum! (and thats with 4 years NCB - but suppose living in Northern Ireland affects that)

I'll be waiting for another year or so before I change my GT - as an all round package for me atm its treating me well!

i no its sounds daft, but i thaught a 1.4 with the gti bumpers etc but not sure if they fit, but my brother is in a group 16 car aswell, a 2 litre turbo astra cabroilet with only about 2 no claims bonuses and his was £1800 so a thaught it might be £2000 - £2500 on my mams insurance for me. im 100% positive it was a gti in candy white witht hem monza wheels, with the tartan interior etc, i didnt see the mileage but 99% it was an 07.
