what are mkll gti's like without pas

ive seen a e reg gti 16v looks nice has big bumpers fitted and nice cond, but no pas is it very heavy i expect its a nighmare at low speeds ands parking, an old mr2 i had one wasnt to bad but thats ligher

Yep totally fine, i agree, i prefer it without power steering, i think it gives better feedback at speed
And if you are a little weak it will build those arm muscles up hahaha

..just don't go silly wide on the wheels or small with the steering wheel.

i used to have no PAS on my old 8v mk2 and it wasnt that bad tbh until i put bigger wheels on and slammed it. saying that the 16v mk2 i just sold had PAS and its something i would definately look for if i was to get another mk2

If I had the choice I'd personally go for PAS, however it's not a disaster if it doesn't have it!  Not having PAS is only an issue for me when getting out of my tight drive but thats about it

non-PAS is no big deal. my current 16v is non-PAS, way i look at it, is one less thing to go wrong. my old 16v had it and the seals went on its rack

the PAS rack is a quicker rack than the non-PAS though

I don't have PAS and its fine for me, parallel parks are a pain in the ass, but its because my reverse gear refuses to stay in, so I have to steer with one hand (heavy!). Day to dayish its ok, I'd still go for PAS for comfort, its not that detached from manual steering.
