Personally i wouldnt bother pttting a gti engine into a driver, it will never be a proper gti, you will have extra hassle woth insurance etc and it breaks my fundamental rule i always stick to, never build a car you can buy!

Have a good look around for insurance and try all those adverts in the pvw. I found mine for just under £600 for the gti, and thats fully comp, with a fresh 0 no claims bonus :embarassed:

i got a quote for £1,153 from elephant on a gti 8v thanks for the mum trick i didint no that and i put my dad on it aswell and that brought it down another £100 or so pounts
so now i just gotta find a nice golf gti
