What are those holes in the mat for, do they fix onto underneath the seat some how?

you get a couple of clips that you can just about see to the right in the picture. these you fit to the carpet of your car and then go through the mat to keep it in place. i haven't used them on mine, the mats are such a good fit that you don't really need them
