e30 engine is from what other cars?

ED30, seat leon cupra, S3, Audi TT DEC07 onwards have the same engine bar the intercooler, only the S3 has the greater mass cooler, the engines are very different to the standard GTI engine, i wont bore you but even the con rods are strenghened, the geometry of the steering is also enhanced, its lowered 15mm and has a better but firmer suspension set up. the ED30 is easilly capable of 400bhp without any internal work needed, a GT28 71R could be bolted on and boost turned custom style high with no problem, my guess is 360bhp will be available with the standard turbo when a good quality 3" turbo downpipe and 100 cell sportcat are available and a good CAIS, and revo probobly pushing up the boost a little more.

These alleged changes have been thrashed around on this forum for a while now but nobody has any real substance to their claims. Where have you got your info from regarding engine, suspension and steering modifications to the Edition 30?

i had a S3 on order for 8 weeks when the delivery date was changed for the 3rd time i cancelled, Dino a friend of mine and a salesman for lookers VW told me about the edition 30 and the fact that the S3 engine would be used and only 1500 would be made, i googled vw engine parts etc, euro parts, only the intercooler has a different number. im not saying the Ed30 is better but it has many changes engine wise and steering and suspension.

personally measured them GTI and Ed30 downpipes back-to-back. Used my own very precise tool (=my little roger), it did not fit in GTI downpipe, but with Ed30 it was ok
