R32 Rattle

Anyone experienced a rattle from their r32 when reving if stationary and at about 2000 rpm when pulling away?
The garage tell me there is nothing wrong with it although it sounds like a screw in central section of the exhaust. They said there may be a pressure valve that causes it, but it was clear they knew square route nothing about this car!
Has anyone else experienced this. Any advice welcome.

Dont know about the R32, but on my '97 Mk3 GTI the heat shield on the cat is loose and that sounds like a screw in the centre section .This is held on by 2 or 3 screws, but not sure about yours. Worth a look at least. :-/

I can't say I've noticed this, I will have a listen to mine tomorrow when I go to work and let you know.

Wish i was fortunate to be able to listen to it, but my 1.8 turbo (180bhp) will have to do for now.
But my dad did pick his R32 up 3 weeks ago, so i will ask him if he has experienced the same problem.
What a car!

Can't say I can notice any exhaust rattle, so maybe you have got something loose. Mind you just about everything else rattles in the car but i can live with it.

I have this noise on my R32 too.
I've only had the car two days so plan to take it to the dealer next week.
The noise sounds like loose heat shielding from the centre section of the exhaust or summat. :-/
I can reproduce the noise when reversing out of the garage from cold on a morning - a tinny rattle from underneath.

You should take it back and complain. You did not pay that money for a ford quailty car.
Get as much fixed as you can now other wise you warrenty will run out and then they will charge you a small fortune to fix it.
