i think some of the extras will help the cars resell value.

in several years most cars will be being sold with xeons, most people just dont know what they are at the moment, if they did they would want them.
also other things like highline comp (again if known what it is) will be wanted.
arm rest is a wanted item..

Unfortunately most car dealers etc go by a book price - which doesnt account for Sat Nav, Xenons, Leather etc.
Perhaps some of the items may get a little bit more for... but I cant really see a dealer giving you an extra £30 for having a highline computer and an extra £50 for having an arm rest
Golf R... 3 door, DSG, Leather, Reflex Silver, Black 19" Talladega Wheels, ACC, Parking Sensors, RNS510 with Dynaudio, Reverse Camera, Luxury Pack, Cruise Control & Fiscon Bluetooth.

I went into a VW dealers recently, (god knows why) and enquired about a trade in, and they DO take into the extras, on their list it asks for what extras are fitted and it put the price up on mine by £1600, dealers find it an easy way on conning people, if its a car they can resale themselves and not put it to auction like most part ex's of different makes. Thats why their 2nd hand GTi's are worth different values on their own forecourts. TOTAL BOLLOX. DONT BE FOOLED

Its better to wait and get the car you actually want, than take one thats ready just for the sake of it!

I know, and I will do it. Tornado red ed30 with "18 black detroit  :)

Although GTI that I can buy immediately is also very nice; perl black GTi 200hp with DSG, "18 detroit, navigation/dvd, climatronic, mirrors II pack, parking sensors, tinted,...for 21800GBP, and I get for free 3 years hull insurance, 300GBP on credit car for gasoline and 2 nights free hotel in one of European capitals.

DSG is "deal breaker", xenon lights are important but I can buy after market xenons, only that difference between GTi 200hp and ED30 was question.

Any extras you add to the car wont be worth a penny extra when it comes time to sell it... so think wisely.

Yes, but also buyers think that way so they won't to buy car without additional items like xenons, "18 rims, dvd/navi,..because they think (hope) that for few hundred pounds more they can buy car with full options.

For example, few years ago ('01/'02) air conditioning was option on lots of cars, today you can't sell car without air condition.

*black detroit "18 rims look awful on pictures, like someone steal wheels covers, but IRL they look perfect
