GTI on youtube
« on: 19 June 2007, 04:18 »
Hey guys,

(NB: Bored at work!!)

How often have u flicked through chanels on TV and caught the last two minutes of a GTI review!! (I have too many times)

Well, if you search for "GTI" or "MKV GTI" etc etc (be creative) on youtube you can find some really cool reviews from around the world (including Aus) plus some amature videos which can be entertaining... Also a host of other vids about ur dream cars (enzo, koenigsegg etc)

There always positive reviews and there are some awesome vids of Tiff Needell getting a GTI about as sideways as one can go!!

Cheers

Have spent many an evening looking at things like that on youtube. Can't post atm because I'm at work (working hard as you can see lol) but there is a video of a MKV GTi v BMW M5 and you just won't believe how fast the M5 is. Just leaves the Golf for dust !

A friend of mine has driven one and I quote " It's the only car I have driven that actually scared me".

Did you guys see the one with the M5 vs a modified Smart Car??? Thats funny stuff.

There is a clip of Tiff Needell doing a 360 degree spin in the GTI with Evenessance singing in the background. Its awesome!

Is that the Smart Brabus ForFour?  Mental little car... out accelerates the Mrk 5 GTi - I drove one whilst I was searching for my next car (along with an RX8, Audi TT, Audi S3) - they go like stink!  Thing is, because they are so small and light, they feel even faster... whereas in the GTi... you sometimes don't realise just how fast you are travelling!!!
All in all a nice car, but suffers from handling issues... and just doesn't feel as "planted" as the Golf GTi... one warning though, if you are in a standard GTi and fancy racing a Brabus ForFour off the lights... be prepared for a shock!!
Mk 5 GTi, Tornado Red, Leather, Xenons, 18" Monza II's, Sunroof, 6CD in Armrest, Winter pack & Tinted Windows... soon to be adding ED30 front spoiler, plus R32 sideskirts... then getting fully colour coded!
New engine fitted when car was at 27k... last one went "noisey".
