Wasn't sure quite where to put this tbh...so here goes..
Are there any ingredients that are harmful to your car that you should look out for on cleaning products?! Like anything that is abrasive etc?

Sorry for being so @nal..

not really, polishes are abrasive in a sense and waxes protect, glazes makes stuff nicer on top of polish. citrus de-greasers are better for paint than other sorts and acidic wheel cleaners are badn news for polished wheels or if you have any laquer bubbles/scratches.

fairy liquid is one of the worst things you can put on paint.

Fairy (all washing up does) contains salt.

Strips wax, adds scratchs etc

Best visit DetailingWorld for more info.

You know you want to, you dont realise it yet!

fairy liquid is one of the worst things you can put on paint.

Why?

It contains surfactants which will help remove any protective waxes and polish.

It contains ions/salts and rinse agents which will accelerate rust.

Also heard suggestions that its not too kind to rubber seals.

yeah, what they said...

basicly one wash with fairy liquid will undo years of waxing and polishing. its cool that you can buy decent stuff in regular shops now, rather than having to go to specialists. there's no reason for not looking after your car with brands like autoglym and meguiars available all over the place. although i can't reccomend www.elitecarcare.co.uk enough.

Di Try some P21s paint cleaner and P21s Wax. You can get it from ebay and other places. It gives good results, and is sooooo easy to use. On easy, off easy and no white dust!

You might get a slightly better result with other products, but they will usually be much harder to use.
