Heres a couple of pics, hard to see on a photo because of the reflections, doesn't look much but you can just make out the crease up the wing.

Seeing that makes me so mad    I always park at the far end of the supermarket carpark even if it's raining to ensure my chariot doesn't get hit. I usually come back to find a couple of 3 door cars parked next to me with kid seats in the back ( and the stereo typical fat arsed single mother trying to get her kids out of the car with her arse banging the door into my pride and joy )  Some times you just gotta take it on the chin mate.

YOU TOOK THE WORDS OUT MY MOUTH??  i would rather walk 2 miles rain wind or snow Just because you have a nice car everyone (THE HATERS ) think you have loads a money so they dont give a monkeys CRASH BANG TROLLEY.IF IT MAKE YOU FEEL ANY BETTER YOUR CARS QUALITY.

More tw@ts. Better off with a new wing though as opposed to trying to get the panel correctly aligned again. I have heard of heat and dry ice giving a somewhat successful repair though, but the repaint would still have to be done:

Yours does look more dented the mine and mine was the rear panel, not front, but this is the damage I had and they managed to make it look as if nothing had happened without replacing the panel and for alot less. But they are saying you shuold replace it, then you got to listen to them really.

Had my GTI only 8 weeks, and some donut did this  :

Sorry for rubbish pitcure! The pictures dont do it justice.
rushed over to the dealer I got it from (Heritage Westbury) and were very prompt and it will be £250 to repair! They said as I got it from them and its so new, they felt sorry for me and would do it cheaper (dont know if I beleive that!)
Luckily the plastic bumber took most of the pain, which is just going to be replaced at £45, then its just having the paint repaired. If it had been and Edition 30 I think it would have been alot more to fix due to colour coded bumpers.

Guys at VW say that looks like a trolley (looks to low down for me), but god knows how much it would have cost if I wasnt a "retail" customer and was having the insurance pay for it!

How can people do stuff like this I just dont know?

Mark

Hi Mark

Have they done the work yet?  I live in Melksham and I got my MK4's body work done by a small firm on the Westbury trading estate ,which I got quoted £380 by Heritage, for £50 cash.  Its not what you know is it!  I can get you thier details if you like.  For your piece of mind they were re-spraying a 56 plate R32 bonnet after 2 other bodyshops said the bonnet would have to be replaced.  They are very good.

Enjoy the GTI mate (even if its not an ED30  :smug:), hope to see you around

Paul

Evil barstewards that do that kind of thing really should have their licence taken away - if they have one in the first place.  Thining about it, the guilty culprit probably is defficient in either licence, MoT or insurance!

Regading the front wing replacement - front wings are designed for easy replacement - being held on by about 8 bolts - so it is far easier to bolt a new wing on, than faf around with panel beating and filler.

If someone had deliberately done that to my Ed 30 I wouldn't forget it for life ... I'd be thinking of ANY way to find out who did it and they wouldn't want to be caught believe me - thankfully never happened to me due to a combination of luck and extreme fussiness as to where I parked.
