Injector wiring
« on: 04 June 2007, 14:48 »
Hi,

I am in the process of building up a new engine (2e) to put back in to my 8v gti (pb, digi), it was all going so well but then I noticed that the wiring loom for the injectors and worn away and needs replacing.

VW have said it could take several weeks to get another. Does anyone know if this needs to a certain resistance or could I use another connector from another wiring loom and just solder in the replacement?

Any help appreciated.

Matt B.

i wouldnt hace thought it would matter really because all it does it tell the injector to fire and when to do nothing.have you tried going to a brekers to get a used one?would save a lot of aggro with cutting and soldering and the rest of it
i think i love you.....

I have tried asking a couple of breakers but they want to sell the wiring loom with the injector rail or a whole engine and are asking for more than the £33 from the dealer.

I have found that http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.co.uk/VWPweb2000/connectors/connectors.html sell a connector that should do the job, hopefully.

This was quite an old post m8. I got one from the dealer in the end cos I couldn't get to any breakers and needed the car ASAP.

I am quite glad I got a dealer part as it has a sort of heat sheild on it which is handy when running a S/S manifold.

Cheers
